Who We Are
The National Association of Professional Mortgage Women is the premier network of individuals
within the mortgage community that promotes professional and personal development for women
through educational and leadership opportunities.
Our association membership includes loan officers, loan processors, underwriters, managers,
appraisers, title insurance, mortgage insurance, lenders and brokers
in associated fields.
We are a not-for-profit association consisting of women and men in the mortgage lending and
related fields in the greater Atlanta area.

History
On February 12, 1964, nine women with 161 years of combined experience in various fields of
mortgage banking met in Seattle, Washington to consider the need for an organization to promote
women in the mortgage lending professions. On April 22, 1964, the first association, to be known
as the Seattle Association of Professional Mortgage Women, was officially formed. Other areas began
to show interest in a similar organization. In February of 1967, the National Association of
Professional Mortgage Women was chartered for the purpose of organizing Local Associations throughout
the United States. Individuals employed in the mortgage banking or related fields are eligible for
membership. With over three decades of service to the industry, NAPMW boasts over 4000 individual
members and more that 80 local affiliate associations nationwide.
In 1986,. the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women Atlanta (NAPMW Atlanta),
was chartered and became affiliated with the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women (NAPMW).
Purposes of the Association
To promote and foster education opportunities for its members;
To maintain the high standards of the profession;
To work for equal recognition and opportunities for women;
To bring it's members together for the exchange of experiences, ideas, and interests in all phases of mortgage banking on the Local, Regional, and National Levels;
And to encourage women to choose the mortgage banking profession as a career.
Professional Commitment
Throughout it’s history, the Association of Professional Mortgage Women has
demonstrated its firm commitment to improving the standards of the mortgage lending professions.
